SAP SD/LE Functional Consultant (Senior Level)

Location: Albany, NY

Summary This position is responsible for the implementation, support, and maintenance of the Order to Cash processes for a global instance of SAP ECC 6.0. This role requires extensive knowledge of the SAP Sales & Distribution module, including best business practices, as well as strong understanding of the other SAP modules such as MM, PP, and FI.
 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Ability to work with super users and IT Business Partners to resolve cross functional SAP and process issues.
    • Need to be hands on with SAP SD (Order management) / Logistics Execution/ Warehouse Management (Lean Warehouse) to the level where they can investigate issues and propose solutions and to engage other team members to find a solution.
    • Need good communication skills and must be able to work independently. Attend support Reviews, be proactive at taking actions and giving updates to reporting function. Need to find ways to bring the problem to a faster resolution
    • Need to have hands on the following order management/warehouse management and logistics execution processes - Order to cash process ,Pricing ,Credit Management, ATP check, Outbound delivery, Shipping and Transportation, Handling unit Management.
    • Participate in requirements gathering, solution proposal and delivery for enhancements and optimizations
    • Deliver hands-on day to day SAP global production support, including the coordination with team members, external consultants, and SAP OSS.
    • Lead all SD related activities which includes the supervision of onsite consultants and offshore support consultants as needed.
    • Participate in global rollouts and new implementations throughout all companies including system design, integration testing, user training, and post go-live support.
    • Work with key business users to configure and modify SAP to meet business requirements using Best Practices.
    • Create documentation suitable for internal systems control and end users which include functional and technical specifications, BPP’s, and training materials. • Prepare test plans and scripts and perform unit and regression testing. Coordinate and drive end-user testing.
    • Provides oversight to other SAP modules in the Company.
    • Assist management in planning future business systems improvements.
    • Interface with external consultants in support of business systems and applications.
    • Actively supports the client’s commitment to Quality and Safety, with an emphasis on continual improvement.
    • Performs additional duties as assigned by Business Applications Manager.
    • Good expertise in SD -- Data Migration Process, Cut Over Activities, Template Prep and Business Process documentation.
    • Strong experience on - HYBRIS Integration, Interface design and data transfer process.
    • Develop and deliver training material for end users.
    • Participate in post go live support activities and transition to support.

 
Education and/or Experience          

    • Bachelor's degree in lieu of which an additional 10+ years of SAP configuration experience in the SAP SD and LE modules.
    • 12+ years experience implementing/supporting the SAP SD module with strong business knowledge of integration points between SD, MM, PP and FI/CO.
    • 7+ years experience in an SAP production support environment preferred.
    • 5+ years experience in an SAP lead or supervisory role preferred.
    • 5+ Full life-cycle implementations working on all facets from system design to post go live support preferred.
    • Extensive experience with intercompany configurations and transactions.
    • Must have flexibility to provide on-call production/project support during off-hours and the ability to travel, including internationally, when required.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to effectively communicate with business users, stakeholders, technical teams, and various levels of management. This includes communicating system issues and business solutions in a clear and concise manner, along with ability to recognize your audience and tailor communications accordingly.
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and priority tasks.
